What we want from them at their festival exclusive this summer

A full play-through of ‘Battle Born’ from atop an inflatable Luxor casino? A star-studded set of Christmas songs featuring Elton John, Jimmy Kimmel and Owen Wilson? One-off festival headline sets with no album to promote tend to make for unpredictable ‘specials’, where bands stray from their regimented setlists to frolic with wild abandon through their back catalogue, playing long-forgotten rarities, anniversary albums in full or non-stop, screw-the-new-album hit barrages.

So when Las Vegas glam rockers The Killers return to the UK to headline Hyde Park on July 8 (check here for tickets they're on sale now) anything could happen. Their latest album release was ‘Don’t Waste Your Wishes’, a collection of their annual Christmas charity singles, while they recently played their celebrated second album ‘Sam’s Town’ in full in Las Vegas to mark its tenth birthday. So perhaps we’ll see a two-set extravaganza that drops their rarely-played festive favourites into the mix, and includes an entire separate set of the cream of ‘Sam’s Town’? If you’re listening, The Killers, we’re wasting our wishes on you playing this:

Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine
