Lana Del Rey is set to perform for the first time in 2017, with a surprise appearance at South by Southwest in Austin Texas tonight (March 17).

The singer will return to the stage with a set at Apple Music space, with presumably new material in tow.

If you're not lucky enough to be in attendance (probably not), we're guessing that shakey, distorted fan footage of new tracks will emerge online promptly - giving us an idea into the direction of her new work.

Lana Del Rey recently returned with a new single in the form of cinematic ballad 'Love' - the first taste of material from the new record, which is on course to drop later this year.

The accompanying video for 'Love' is quintessentially Del Rey, with the singer's performance filtered through grainy sepia and black and white, complete with a vintage outer space setting.

No further details on the record have yet been announced - though the singer has promised some exciting guest appearances, and claims the album is "for my fans and about where I hope we are all headed."

Meanwhile, Lana Del Rey has been confirmed for Oya and the first ever Lollapalooza Paris festival.

Lana Del Rey will perform at Apple Music space at 8pm local time, tonight (March 17)
