This last month has seen Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine announce that his band would do the unthinkable and move from main event status to support act.

He had teased about this event, but it has now been announced that he and his bandmates will be the guests of German rockers The Scorpions on their upcoming US tour.

Mustaine made news with his interview with the radio station WRIF when he said, "Believe it or not, we've got some cool things going on for the States. We've got two really great things we're gonna be doing. We'll be heading out some part of the spring or summer and then we just were told about an opportunity at the end of the year that really, really excited me."

He then added, "It's somebody I've never played with before that we're actually gonna be supporting. They were so cool that we would step down from being a headliner to support this group."

It was another radio station, Los Angeles' 93.1 Jack FM, that revealed the identity of that mystery band with the following report on Monday "Two of the most celebrated bands in hard rock, together for the first time on the 'Crazy World Tour.' the Scorpions with very special guests Megadeth, play the 'Fabulous' Forum in Inglewood on Saturday, October 7."

‘The Scorpions have announced the first series of dates for a fall North American tour that will feature thrash metal legends Megadeth as their special guests.

Shows for the North American Crazy World Tour will begin in Reading, PA on September 14, with dates currently running to mid-October and more to be announced.’

They continued ‘When our album Crazy World was released back in '91, right at the end of the cold war," explains singer Klaus Meine, we toured around a world that was pretty crazy back then, but there was so much hope in the air for a more peaceful future. Now 26 years later, things are getting more crazy every other day.

After all these years, 'Crazy World' is still a good motto for our upcoming world tour. We are very much looking forward to seeing all of you out there.’

The Scorpions' eleventh album, "Crazy World" peaked at No. 21 on the US Billboard 200 with help from the international hit and Top 5 US single, "Wind Of Change"

The tickets will surely sell-out quickly for these rare rock shows.
