Argentinian band Kill West have unveiled the warped, motorik psych single 'Faces', taken from their forthcoming album Gush. Listen to it first on Gigwise below.
Kill West hail from Buenos Aires and have been busy gaining quite a reputation in the international psych scene. The new cut 'Faces' sees the four-piece's hypnotic rock ’n’ roll pushed within an inch of its life – this is cosmic, all-guns-blazing garage that doesn’t slow down for a second, and induces transcendence with its twisting drones and driving krautrock percussion.
The accompanying visuals are just as much of a trip as the song itself – it’s an insane montage of kaleidoscopic visuals, distorted stock footage, debauched parties and green-screen. Meanwhile, the video’s drag-clad subject passes around a mysterious bottle of ‘Gush’ that seems to be making people lose their mind entirely – no doubt a metaphor for the sleazy, psychotropic qualities of their album.
The album Gush will be released 23 June on Stolen Body Records, Bristol’s finest purveyors of all things hedonistic and lysergic. The label is no stranger to tapping into international waters to find the best new names and they’ve pulled through once again on this one. Kill West are not only one of the most exciting psych bands to come out of South America but this whole world.
The band will be announcing a June European tour very soon, but they have confirmed a show at the Stolen Body-curated Bristol Psych Fest alongside The Gories, Ron Gallo, Spectres and more.
