Fresh from their prestigious support slot with Green Day at Hyde Park as part of the British Summer Time series of open air gigs and a brief UK tour, Gogol Bordello have announced their return to the UK with a winter tour.

The New York-based gypsy punks will hit Manchester, London, Wolverhampton, Nottingham and Glasgow with all the gusto of a vodka frenzy this December. They play:

DECEMBER

12 – Manchester, Academy
14 – London, Brixton Academy
15 – Wolverhampton, Wulfrun Hall
16 – Nottingham, Rock City
17 – Glasgow, Academy

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday, July 14.

But before all that comes the not-so-small matter of Gogol Bordello’s new album, Seekers And Finders, which is out on August 25.

Speaking of the album, frontman Eugene Hutz said: “Seekers and Finders is just a very magical and playful record for us. It just feels quite complete in capturing the Gogol familia transcontinental lifestyle, every side of it… the Good, The Bad, and the Snugly.”

Recalling the album’s origins, Hutz continued: “I was still bouncing between Latin America and Eastern Europe when songs were emerging, but finally, as soon as I moved back to New York, it all came into focus… as it always did for me here.”

The band have also shared a lyric video for their new single, ‘Walking On The Burning Coal’. Speaking to Consequence Of Sound, Eugene Hutz said of the track: “The theme here is a Rite of Passage, or rather its absence of it in our society.”

He continued: “As you know, generally speaking people divide themselves into young and old souls, but how do they get there? By simply aging or mindlessly clicking like-no like buttons? Fuck no. By using their free will and focus to accumulate necessary experience.”
