Blink-182 have announced the cancellation of tonight’s show (July 17) in Bournemouth. The pop-punk trio were scheduled to be playing the Bournemouth International Centre but have had to can the gig due to illness.
A statement from the band reads: “It is with deep regret that Blink-182 have to cancel their show this evening at Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) due to band illness, on doctors advise. Refunds will be available from point of purchase.”
Fans going to see the band at their London shows at the O2 Arena and Wednesday (July 19) and Thursday (July 20) can breathe a sigh of relief – the shows will be going ahead.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Blink-182 released an expanded version of the California album earlier this year. Featuring 28 tracks, 11 of the songs had been previously unreleased.
“We just felt like making more music so we jumped back in the studio,” said drummer Travis Barker of the additional material.
“It started out as three or four songs – but we ended up with 12 that we were all excited about.”
They also released a new video for ‘Home Is A Lonely Place’. Speaking of the track, Blink 182 said: “The video for ‘Home Is Such A Lonely Place’ was probably the easiest we’ve ever filmed. All we had to do was be ourselves at home with our family and friends as we prepared to leave for tour.
“Consequently, it's also our most personal and honest videos, and one of our favourites.”
