The Killers have announced the details of their new album, to be titled Wonderful Wonderful.

The fifth full length from Brandon Flowers and co. will be released on 22 September via Virgin EMI, with the announcement coming alongside a new track from the band, Run For Cover, streaming across all platforms now. The new track sees the band sounding newly galvanised, with Flowers’ vocals sounding urgent and intense over a rapid, forceful instrumental, which sees the band fully retreating from the washed out balladeering of their last record, Battle Born. It follows the first new track from the album, The Man, which was also well-received by fans.

The deluxe edition of the album will also include a bonus track, Money On Straight, as well as two remixes of The Man, by Duke Dumont and Jacques Lu Cont respectively. The record is shaping up to be a worthy closer for what’s been a strong summer for the band, with a slew of well-received headline slots at festivals across Europe, and a secret set at Glastonbury Festival which saw the John Peel tent crammed with eager fans. The band had to add a number of extra dates to a huge UK arena tour planned for this November, as an initial 12 date run was met with phenomenal public demand. Gigwise was on hand to witness the group’s stellar headline set at Hyde Park for BST Live, a gig we called “wild, yet composed, crowd-pleasing and, above all, classy.” Read the full review here.
