Fresh off the back of her unsurprisingly enormous second album Melodrama, Lorde has shared a lush new video for Perfect Places, the latest single culled from the record.

The video, directed by Grant Singer, sees the New Zealander in a series of ‘perfect places’, from lush jungle waterfalls to idyllic beaches and a lavish banquet, undercut with a distinct edge of isolation and melancholy.

It’s the second standalone single from the album, and follows the hit Green Light which reached number one in dozens of charts across the globe. Her new album topped the charts in America, but was kept off the UK number one spot by Royal Blood.

Earlier this week it was revealed that Lorde is leading the nominations at this year’s Q Awards, with the 20 year-old up for four prizes: Best Track, Best Live Act, Best Solo Artist and Best Act In The World Today. She faces competition from the likes of Ed Sheeran and Kendrick Lamar, who are also up for four awards.

Meanwhile, her set in Chicago for Lollapalooza festival was cut after only a few songs due to a freak storm. She expressed her sympathy towards fans and offered to put on a huge show to make up for the decision that was out of her hands.

The singer, the first New Zealander to reach #1 in America since 1985, will embark on her mammoth Melodrama world tour later this year, including five UK dates, listed below. Check here for tickets
