Giggs' roadcrew are sat back stage. "It's going to go off," a man told Gigwise. We assumed he meant due to the sheer might of the soundsystem a main stage provides, and Giggs shows in general are hype. But they were hiding a trick up their sleeve: Drake was about to come on stage.

Drake has been hugely supportive of UK rap and Grime in recent months, and Giggs - thanks to his raw talent has guested on two songs on Drake's recent More Life mixtape.

It was the song 'KMT' they did together that saw Drake join him this afternoon (27 August).

It started out with the beat selector and Giggs but part way through he said a sentimental few words about being at the festival, and within moments, Drake came on and fans started rushing frantically towards the front.

After the crowd nearly doubled, they rewound the track and urged the crowd to do this properly, recognising that it was a once in a life time moment.

"I came seven hours," said Drake, explaining he'd flown in especially to join his man, and  he started to whip the crowd into a frenzy. From here on in the crowd stayed and got into tracks such as 'Look What The Cat Dragged In'.

Having Drake come on shows that the bridge between North America and the UK is gaining strength and London rappers are making it on a global stage.

This is also a move form Giggs that shows appreciation for being booked on the main stage of Reading festival. He co-ordinated a gesture of good will that will have had festival head in awe of his generosity.

Reading Festival has been full or surprises this year. On the first day Queens Of The Stone Age did a surprise appearance on the NME/ Radio 1 stage. Yesterday Wolf Alice played on the Festival Republic stage.

Earlier today The xx made an appearance. If we reprint the line up poster after everyone who came, you'd notice a hugely great line-up and one of the best of 2017.
