Fallout boy got their name after asking an audience at a college show what they should be called and receiving a shout of superhero ‘radioactive man’ - from The Simpsons no less.

Fallout boy were formed in 2001 though they didn’t make a major name for themselves until 2003 with the release of a single split EP with Project Rocket.
The band released the EP ‘Fallout Boy’s Evening Out With Your Girlfriend’, on uprising records in 2003, as well as their first full-length album ‘Take This To Your Grave’ which achieved gold status, before signing on with island records.

In 2005 they released their major label debut with ‘From Under The Cork Tree, quickly achieving double platinum status, their first single ‘sugar we’re going down’ reached no1 on MTVs TRL as well as the video winning the MTV 2 Award at the MTV video music awards. And are said to be responsible for a ‘punk rock revolution’
