Busta Rhymes has been arrested in New York, following a complaint from a man claiming the rapper had beaten him up.
The incident with the unnamed man is thought to have stemmed from a disagreement over money.
Rhymes handed himself into police last night (January 3) in Manhattan and was given a misdemeanour assault charge. Police detained him in custody to appear in court today.
Lieutenant John Grimpel said in a statement that a man has complained to police that Rhymes had punched and kicked him outside a New York building on Boxing Day. The man was then treated in hospital.
It’s not the first time Rhymes has brushed with the wrong side of the law in recent months. In August he was charged with assault over a fracas at the AmsterJam Music Festival in New York. He also received a fine in November over a driving offence.
