In a UK festival exclusive Tame Impala will return to London to headline this year’s Citadel Festival. Now located in West London’s Gunnersbury Park, the psych-rock stalwarts will aim to bring ‘The Ultimate Summer Sunday’ on July 15.

Since the band’s formation the five-piece have gone from having a dedicated cult following to immeasurable success, with a little help from their third studio album Currents, and they haven’t paid the UK a visit since they sold out Alexandra Palace twice over in February 2016, earmarking this appearance as a special occasion indeed.

Their headline performance announcement will no doubt set tongues wagging about new material from the Australian band too, making Citadel potentially one of the first opportunities to get your ears round some new songs.

Last year Citadel was headlined by indie juggernauts Foals and also saw performances from Wild Beasts, Bonobo and Laura Marling.

Registration for the Citadel ticket pre-sale is now open here and will close on February 9, when those signed up will gain access to the pre-sale. General sale tickets for Citadel will go on sale on Monday 12 February.
