Liam Gallagher, The Specials and Richard Ashcroft are just some of the big names to be announced as support for The Rolling Stones’ upcoming UK tour.

Florence + The Machine, The Vaccines, Elbow and James Bay will also join the rock’n’roll veterans at selected dates on the eight-date No Filter UK tour. The gigs will take place in some the UK’s biggest outdoor venues including the London Stadium, Old Trafford in Manchester and Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium.
Liam Gallagher - once referred to by Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards as “the Irish bitch” after the former Oasis singer challenged him and the late Beatle George Harrison to a punch up on Primrose Hill in 1997 – expressed his excitement at joining the bill at opening night of the tour at the London Stadium on 22 May.
“It’s a dream come true to be asked to open for the mighty Rolling Stones - the best rock’n’roll band EVER,” he tweeted.

Florence + The Machine will open for the Rolling Stones at the same venue on 25 May.
The Vaccines will provide support at Southampton’s St Mary’s Stadium on 29 May.
Two-Tone pioneers The Specials will open at the Ricoh Stadium in their hometown of Coventry on 2 June, while Richard Ashcroft will provide the warm-up at Manchester’s Old Trafford Stadium on 5 June and Edinburgh Murrayfield Stadium on 9 June.
Elsewhere, Elbow will play at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on 15 June, while James Bay will perform at London’s Twickenham Stadium on 19 June.
The Rolling Stones and their respective support acts will play the following dates:
