The Workers Beer Company has issued an apology following complaints from fans over the lengthy queues for buying drinks at the weekend’s Queens of the Stone Age and Liam Gallagher outdoor gigs at Finsbury Park in London.
Many fans had taken to social media to complain about poor organisation on the part of event promoters Festival Republic. They criticised the organisers after having to queue at the bar for up to 90 minutes, with many missing performances from support acts including Run The Jewels and The Hives.
In a statement on their website, The Workers Beer Company explained that an “unprecedented failure of up to 40% of staff to turn up” led to the lengthy waiting time to be served.
“As a consequence people had to wait an unnecessarily long time to be served. For this we unreservedly apologise to the audience,” they explained.
“So that it’s clear neither Liam [Gallagher] nor Queens of the Stone Age should bear responsibility. They both delivered awesome gigs to awesome fans, that deserved better service from our bar operation.
“This is also the case for Festival Republic who have no responsibility for us letting down the audience and we have already apologised to them.”
However, fans have hit back at Festival Republic, with many demanding further apologies for the overcrowding and massive queues for the toilets and free water.
