London’s foremost celebration of afro-Caribbean culture, and the west of town’s most glorious annual apolitical pissup, the Notting Hill Carnival is this year getting an app, so revellers can stay in touch with the gnarliest goings on and share their experience with the happy costumed masses.

Developer Second Screen have launched the software party aid, that will include directions, artist information and guides for seasoned experts and total noobs alike to get around and make the most of Carnival.

Every year, London sets aside the Sunday and Monday of the their August bank holiday for a definitely glorious (or rainy, who cares) day out at one of the world's largest street carnivals; second only in scale to Rio, which is some going.

Nigh on a million people attend this two-day celebration of Caribbean heritage on the streets of Notting Hill. Celebrations include costume-clad Londoners and cheerful party people from all over the world getting down to traditional reggae, meringue, calypso, rumba, and zouk music, and street vendors flogging tasty goodness like seasoned jerk chicken, callaloo, and traditional goat stew.
