Time to get excited for next summer. Glastonbury Festival have announced that tickets the 2019 event, held 26 – 30 June at Worthy Farm, Somerset, will go on sale at the beginning of October.
They’ll sold in two batches. The first, with coach packages, goes on sale at 6pm on Thursday, 4 October. The second batch – that’ll be the standard tickets – will be available at 9am on Sunday 7 October.
For tickets and registration details go here. Registration is essential as it’s part of the festival’s watertight strategy to avoid touting.
Given it’s always the most in-demand festival going - and will sell out in a flash - don’t despair if you don’t get tickets immediately. It’s expected that a re-sale will take place in April. There are also plenty of opportunities detailed in this Gigwise article of how to get in for free.
Though there’s no word on next year’s line-up, it emerged this morning that Kylie Minogue is being hotly tipped to perform at the Glastonbury Festival’s Legends slot on the Sunday afternoon of the event. The ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’ singer was originally due to headline the 2005 festival but was forced to cancel her appearance due to being diagnosed with breast cancer a month before the event.
Other names being bandied around as potential performers include Madonna, Taylor Swift, Stormzy and Kendrick Lamar. The festival’s organisers have made no secret that Paul McCartney is “top of their list” to headline, though whether that actually happens or not is another matter entirely. The former Beatle last headlined Glastonbury in 2004.
Fans were urged last week to update their photographs and registration details here.
