More about:

Porridge Radio have made a new, grand statement with 'Lilac' and its accompanying video. The tune announces that the Brighton DIY band have signed to Secretly Canadian (Shura, Whitney).

'Lilac' is an inventive, building indie track with lashings of drama. With a bold seaside video directed by El Hardwick, it's a strong step into higher echelons for Porridge Radio, whose profile has been rising fast in 2019 thanks to a clutch of impressive singles.

Hear the new one:

Beautiful vocals and a world of clever backing vocals and harmonies makes 'Lilac' their most polished work to date, but still with the charming DIY vibe that make songs like 'Eugh' so compelling.

On the new song, frontwoman Dana Margolin said: “I wanted to find some power in powerlessness...I was thinking about the way you can feel so close to someone that it’s like their body is your body, like there’s no separation between you, but you can’t stop things disintegrating. It’s a song about finding some hope and some future within that.”
