'For reasons of force majeure known to us all'

Primavera Sound have wasted no time in re-arranging their 2020 edition in light of the coronavirus pandemic. Originlly billed to take place at the beginning of June, the Spanish festival has simply moved its festival up a couple of months to the end of August.

"We feel obliged and responsible to contribute insofar as we can to the survival of the live music scene, whose role will be key to the return to normality after this absolutely unprecedented situation" the festival said in a press release, adding that "we will make every effort to ensure that this change, imposed as a result of the current global health crisis, affects the festival’s programme as little as possible."

And thank god for that, because the bumper Primavera 2020 line-up is a beautiful one to behold. Bauhaus, The Strokes and Massiva Attack rub up against names like Bikini Kill, Lana Del Rey, Tyler, The Creator and Brockhampton to give the now-cancelled Glastonbury '20 line-up a serious run for its money.

Among the people we hope to see remain on the bill for the newly-arranged festival are: Earl Sweatshirt, Rina Sawayama, Weyes Blood, King Princess, 100 Gecs and Pavement. Did we mention that the line-up is a perfect 50/50 gender split?

If you already grabbed a ticket from DICE for the festival, it's still valid for those new dates. "Once the state of alarm decreed by the Government of Spain is over as well its possible extensions, we will give you more information" Primavera said.

Primavera Sound 2020 will now take place 26-30 August.
