Indie but make it funk

The uber-talented Alfie Templeman has shared another excellent single. 'Obvious Guy' is another step up for the younger singer-songwriter - it's a third taste of his forthcoming EP Happiness In Liquid Form.

Noodling funk guitars and a disco groove make this indie tune a real party starter - but an undercurrent of dark melancholy keeps things contemporary. No matter what he experiments with, Templeman never seems to miss.

After writing sessions with Justin of The Vaccines, 'Obvious Guy' was written alongside former Kaiser Chief Nick Hodgson. It comes with a sweet, colourful animated video.

On the new single, Templeman said: “I really love funk music and have always wanted to venture into it more and more with my own music...I love the ‘Obvious Guy’ vídeo because it’s so colourful and sums up the track perfectly. It shows the whole vibe of feeling unwanted until you find the right people in life.”

This track follows April's Billie Eilish-esque 'My Best Friend' - a song featuring Coach Party.
