More about:

Indie innovator Nilüfer Yanya has landed back on the scene with her big comeback track 'Crash'. Premiered this evening with Annie Mac on Radio 1, it's a great re-establishment of intent. There's an EP titled Feeling Lucky? coming in December.

Like on her critically and commercially acclaimed debut Miss Universe, Yanya's distinctive vocal rolls sweetly from the heart of the song. But on 'Crash', there's a new hard edge to offset that. A driving, floor-shaking bassline lives side by side with a heavy, far-off guitar and relentless drums.

It's a hardness that comes out in the song's second half, as Yanya changes tone, suddenly making "if you ask me one more question..." sound like a threat. Hear it:

“It feels difficult to try and explain a song that doesn’t want to be explained" Yanya said. 'Crash' is track one on a three-track EP coming 11 December, which will also feature previous Bandcamp exclusive and NPR Tiny Desk-aired cut 'Day 7.5093'.

The whole EP is about change: “one of the songs had the theme of luck in it as a concept but then I realised they all do..."

Feeling Lucky? Tracklist:

1. Crash
2. Same Damn Luck
3. Day 7.5093

Feeling Lucky? EP arrives 11 December via ATO Records/PIAS.
