More about:

M.T. Hadley, creator of one of our favourite records of 2019, has returned today with news of a new EP. He drops the breathtaking piano ballad 'Suddenly' this morning.

There's only a few weeks until EP There Isn't A Window That I Won't Look Out Of is released, and for now we have the swelling, beautiful new single to get us through.

'Suddenly' is a moving, piano-led rock ballad backed by a string section that strikes emotion to the heart - even more than Hadley's vocals and lyrics already do, that is.

It comes with this video, made with long-time collaborator Jacek Zmarz:

“Suddenly was born out of an all too fleeting encounter," Hadley said, "It was fairly easy to extend the song outward from this week of wishful romance. None of it is true, and yet it all is."

M.T. Hadley has been a favourite of ours since he started releasing singles for his debut album Empty, which arrived last year. On the LP, which we placed 19th in our favourite 51 records of the whole year, we said: "Alt-pop songs for a world in which nothing you do matters, M.T. Hadley has written a record that’s touching despite an overarching nihilistic philosophy. This debut LP is an effective reflection of life’s own heart-bursting and tear-jerking moments - sometimes both at once."

There Isn't A Window That I Won't Look Out Of EP arrives 12 November via Empty.
