Ambient, lush and delicate, Mal The Oddity's brand new single 'Alone With You' is the Brooklyn artist's fifth single of the year. Still with only six tracks to his name, this is a talent to keep you eye on.

An electronic soundscape spills out from the song's centre, dark synths and echoing beats abounding. Mal's vocals flit between indie crooning and hip hop storytelling: a firefly travelling in the dark.

It's an evocative, introspective and cinematic masterpiece:

Talking on his new cut, Mal said: “I believe that relationships are like mirrors. As much as ‘Alone With You’ is written about someone close to me, it’s also a self-portrait."

“I had a lot of questions while writing this song: how can two people feel lonely when they’re together? How do we bridge the distance between ourselves and loved ones, when things have gone bad in the past? Are these questions for my loved one, or questions for myself? The search for some answers resulted in this song.”

'Alone With You' follows previous 2020 releases 'Right Now', 'Freaks and Wild Things', 'These Days' and 'New Wings'.
