Bristol techno-punk mad heads Scalping have returned for the first time this year with a driving new track and video for 'Deadlock'. It announces that the group have signed to indie label Houndstooth.

More guitar-heavy, computer-lite than on previous releases, 'Deadlock' is more of a restrained outing for Scalping's particular brand of glitching, abstract, heavy techno.

Driving and shot gleefully through with synth mania, it's a bold new start for the band we called "utterly mesmerising" when they played at Electrowerkz last autumn.

We also saw Scalping at East London's Visions Festival last year, calling their set "brain-melting techno-metal" - "Yes, guitars go with computers and absolutely don’t require vocals - who ever told you otherwise?"
