More about: Cherry Glazerr
California band Cherry Glazerr have followed up last year's LP Stuffed & Ready with something a little different: the cool, synthesised sounds of 'Rabbit Hole'. The new single will have a follow-up in February, and then a new album.
Band leader Clementine Creevy explores alt-pop breathiness on the new cut to great effect: alongside corkscrew synths and a soundscape lush with metallic twists to explore, it's a a marked change from Cherry Glazerr's usual grunge sensibilities.
“Rabbit Hole is about clawing back my identity. I often find myself acting a certain way to get someone else’s approval. Then it’s hard for me to find myself again. That’s what I was meditating on with this song" Creevy noted.
It's a theme that'll recur in future songs that are yet to be written but will likely appear on a fifth album, perhaps in 2021. "You can’t sacrifice your true self, it’s just unsustainable. Realizing this has been a big pill to swallow for me but it has given me a wealth of perspective.”
