AA Sessions Vol.1 began as a revolving door of musicians in the blistering hot summer of 2018. Whoever appeared that week at Agricultural Audio - a rural studio baking beneath the South Downs and barren of wifi or phone signal - had to write and record a song that day.

Contributors included members of Blood Red Shoes, Nancy, Tigercub, Projector, Sick Joy, Sweet Williams, Ergo Schmidt and AKDK and from that incestuous swirl emerged an EP of irreverent synth-laced grooves and off-kilter wonk-rock, produced by AA’s own Ben Hampson. AA Vol.1 was released to the world on limited strawberry flavour vinyl via Jazz Life on Record Store Day 2019. It sold out.

In contrast to 2018, Summer 2020 was not the year to be pressed half naked into a studio, sharing cans and microphones and hashing out a record. The second AA Sessions is a different operation entirely. Volume 2 will be released as 12 singles, recorded each month by different of members of the expanding AA Sessions gang, and released on the last Friday of the month.

The first single ‘I Just Wanna Lie In Bed And Drink My Wine’ is a piece of capricious off-kilter pop, shrugging off struggle and regret with an ode to the healthiest of all coping mechanisms: staying in bed all day drinking wine.

‘I Just Wanna Lie In Bed And Drink My Wine’ is the first release from an album that hasn’t been made yet, created without looking back or forwards, or with any thought at all.
