More about: Iceage
Indie monoliths Iceage are back. They announce their return with a video for new single 'The Holding Hand' today, the first release on their new label Mexican Summer.
It's three years since their latest album Beyondless dropped via Matador (though a single - 'Lockdown Blues' - arrived last year) and ten since the release of their debut New Brigade. With 'The Holding Hand', Iceage reestablish themselves as alternative essentials. Slow-burning, this is a single that crawls with foreboding, emotion and restrained power.
On the moody video, director Anders Malmberg said: "my aim was to create a cinematic experience around image reflections that would tie in closely to the narrative and the emotional atmosphere of the track, and let the authenticity that the band radiates feel ever present."
We spoke to Elias Bender Rønnenfelt in 2018. Read the interview here.
