Marc Almond has described his recent motorcycle crash as “a truly humbling and life changing experience”.
The ex-Soft Cell singer spent over three weeks in hospital after suffering serious head injuries from the accident in London just over a month ago.
The 48-year-old thanked fans in a statement on his official website for “"so many fantastic messages of support and love".
He added: "I am still overwhelmed. The messages lifted my spirits, which at times have been very low."
Fans bombarded his website with messages of support and sent cards, flowers and presents to the Royal London hospital.
Almond also expressed his “eternal thanks” to the team of doctors that cared for him. He said: "They are too often undervalued in this world but not by me".
He concluded: "It is now over a month since my motorcycle accident and finally it seems that many of the darker days of the ordeal are hopefully behind me."
"I know it will be quite a while before I'm back to normal, though hopefully it won't be as long as thought before".
