Marc Almond Leaves Intensive Care

Marc Almond has been allowed to leave the intensive care ward where he has been recovering after a horrific motorcycle crash earlier this month.

The Soft Cell front man has been moved to a normal ward in the Royal London Hospital "because of the progress he has made so far” a message on his website read.

"He still has a long way to go in his recovery," it states.

"I'm sure you will all join us today in breathing a sigh of relief at this positive news,

"His family have passed on to him the overwhelming amount of good wishes which have been received and Marc is aware of all the messages of love and support,"

Soft Cell, which Almond co-founded with musician David Ball, was one of the biggest-selling acts of the early 1980s and had a string of hits that included the classic ‘Tainted Love’.
