Indie newcomer Charli Adams has just shared her new single ‘Cheer Captain’, and dropped details of her debut album Bullseye, set for release 16 July on Color Study.

‘Cheer Captain’ is a striking indie-pop track that explores the consequences of being a people pleaser, and what happens when you constantly put others’ needs above your own.

Personal lyrics and hazy guitars, alongside an intimate music video offer insight into her upbringing and identity. With the growing popularity of alt-pop artists like Phoebe Bridgers and Beabadoobee, Charli Adams’ unfiltered honesty is sure to resonate with fans of her contemporaries.

Adams says: “I desperately wanted to be everything for everyone so I became a customizable human being that often went against everything I actually am. It’s always felt like the thesis of this project as I touch on my relationship with religion, my parents, and men.”

Charli Adams’ debut LP Bullseye arrives 16 July.
