Noel Gallagher has been announced as this year's Record Store Day ambassador. "Record shops were really important when I was growing up. It’s something that’s in my DNA" he said in an announcement video.

The Oasis man said he'd be releasing singles specifically for Record Store Day. He has, he says, "something unique" coming out in the hopes that he can help "keep the flame burning for your local record shop."

"These things are the poor man's art collection" he said.

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are set to release a Best Of compilation Back The Way We Came: Vol 1 (2011-2021) on 11 June - the first of two RSD drops.

RSD 2021 takes place on 12 June and 17 July across participating record shops around the UK.
