Sweet, sweet '90s-and-'80s-inspired sounds
In the mood for some sweet, sweet '90s-and-'80s-inspired sounds? Look no further than 'Sucker' by Mumble Tide, a duo who met on Gumtree and are partners as well as bandmates.
Built on one hooky guitar riff that toes the line between the grunge and pop of the closing chapter of the 20th century, 'Sucker' is as spiky as it is bubblegum. Additional guitars add some textural feedback while Gina Leonard's vocals drawl and cajoles: "so long, so long sucker!"
"This one is just a super fun track we threw together," Leonard said. "It's about feeling confident and free and moving on (or at least trying to.)."
'Sucker' follows last year's Love Thing EP.
