UK indie titans The Vaccines have shared the first single from their follow up to 2018’s Combat Sports. Few details have been revealed about the upcoming fifth album, but we can expect to hear it later this year.

After a year and a half of being the subject of many, many puns (scroll on Twitter for five minutes if you need proof), it seems only right that The Vaccines are making their return now. ‘Headphones Baby’ is a poppier approach than they usually take, but with mounting excitement for the summer ahead, this burst of energy is exactly what we want to hear. Justin Young says:

“Sometimes life can leave you feeling numb and desperate to feel something. ‘Headphones Baby’ is about creating an escape from that - plugging in to plug out and cocooning yourself from the reality of the outside world in the warm embrace of somebody else’s mind. The song should sound like a fireworks display - a call to arms. And if you want life to feel like it’s permanently in technicolor then we might know where you can find it…”
