Raleigh Ritchie is back with another great offering in the form of ‘Say What You Mean’. Raleigh Ritchie is the musical project of actor Jacob Anderson, who on top of making amazing solo music and performing with Stormzy, has just been cast in the next series of Doctor Who.

‘Say What You Mean’ is just as dazzling as his last track ‘I’m Not OK But I Know I Am Going To Be’. It looks at the good and the bad of modern life, offering the simple yet effective advice of “say what you mean / honestly say what you see” to make it that little bit easier. The music is bright and optimistic, and Raleigh Ritchie’s vocals are beautiful. He summed up his powerful songwriting pretty accurately here:

“I write songs for myself, to get things off my chest and process my emotions but then I release them and I don’t own them anymore; they belong to other people. I hope there is someone who listens to it and hears themselves... I hope that makes them feel less lonely.”
