‘Bad Summer’ is another fine example of Spector’s poetic indie rock, perfectly summed up by the band’s own description that it was “written in the august rain, on a summer’s day like this one. For when every night feels like a honeymoon and every morning feels like a funeral”. With clever technical flourishes throughout it has a melancholic edge that their loyal fanbase will adore.
