Joy Crookes' debut album Skin, out this October, gets its next single today in the form of the romantic, nostalgic 'When You Were Mine'. 

Keys, brass and the distinctive voice of Joy Crookes make this one a delightfully vintage retrospective looking back on a romance in 2016. Set in Brixton, it has a loose, relaxed feeling and the potential to become a modern soul classic:

"‘When You Were Mine’ is a song I wrote about an ex-partner that ended up being with a man after we broke up. It’s a song about accepting their love, but wishing the same for myself" Joy explained.
