BRITs 2022 was a refreshing affair. A newly-appointed Mo Gilligan helped to invigorate a ceremony that had gotten wooden in the hands of Jack Whitehall, while this year was the first in which gendered categories were forsaken in favour of simply 'Artist of the Year' and the like.
Performances came from Ed Sheeran (who was joined by Oli Sykes) in a screamo outro of his hit 'Bad Habits', Anne-Marie and KSI, Liam Gallagher, Adele and Dave. Little Simz and Sam Fender were the highlights of the night, their deeply personal and tight performances proving why both so thoroughly deserve their wins.
