Malaysian Students Force Gwen Stefani To Cover Up

Gwen Stefani has agreed not to wear any “offensive” clothing during an upcoming show in Malaysia later this month.

The US singer’s stage outfits promoted angry protests from Malaysian Muslim students last week who called for the singer’s appearance in the country to be cancelled.

A representative of The National Union of Malaysian Muslim Students said that, "her performance and her attire are not suitable for our culture.”

Organisers for the singer's Malaysian shows have now released a statement saying that Stefani will not wear anything that would “offend” the audience, reports the BBC.

It said: "Gwen Stefani has confirmed that her concert will not feature any revealing costumes.

"She will abide by the Malaysian authorities' guidelines to ensure that her show will not be offensive to local sensitivities."

The Malaysian rules that Stefani must adhere to state that the singer must cover up from the top of her chest to her knees, and that she must not jump with/or hug and kiss members of the audience.
