Hundreds of fans gatecrashed Wyclef Jean’s New Years party on December 31st after he ‘jokingly’ invited “everyone” to the event during a television appearance.

The former Fugees star apparently sent out the invitation during an interview with MTV but didn’t expect it to be taken quite so seriously.

“There were hundreds and hundreds of cars parked all over,” one reveler said. “They had tents set up outside, but people were wandering around in his house, in the movie theater, in the kitchen.”

It's reported that Police fianlly arrived at 3am – just as Jean had begun serving Haitian food on a poker table.
