Dr Who's Matt Smith Joins Jay-Z, Beyonce At Coachella Festival

Jay-Z, Beyonce and Muse were among the acts who thrilled fans at this year’s Coachella festival in Los Angeles.

The event, which took place at the weekend, also featured performances from Gorillaz, Them Crooked Vultures and Faith No More.

Thom Yorke's side-project Atoms For Peace also performed.

But a number of bands, including The Cribs, were forced to pull out due to the ongoing disruption caused by the Icelandic volcanic ash cloud.

As is the tradition at Coachella, a host of stars also descended on the festival, with Dr Who actor Matt Smith among the biggest names to attend.

Actress Kate Hudson, singer Katy Perry and a number of fashion models also partied backstage.
