New York Dolls have confirmed they will dedicate a song to their former manager, the late Malcolm McLaren, at their gig at London's KOKO tonight (April 19).
Despite the Icelandic volcano ash halting many UK gigs featuring international acts, the band's KOKO gig will go ahead tonight where they will dedicate 'Jet Boy' to McLaren.
Sylvain Sylvain from the group said: "Malcolm meant a lot to the Dolls and to me personally.
“I was shocked when I received the news of his death last Thursday. I've known Malcolm since the early seventies, and even after the original line-up of the Dolls split, we remained close friends.”
“We're dedicating 'Jet Boy' to Malcolm and we’ve extended invitations to some British musicians to participate. It's going to be really special. God bless Malcolm McLaren."
Punk pioneer Malcolm McClaren died of cancer last week.
