The punk supergroup release statement...

New York Dolls/Dead Boys punk supergroup Batusis have been forced to postpone their UK tour due to the Icelandic volcano ash.

Despite the skies in Britain currently being open for flights, a series of cancellations have meant that two members – drummer Lez Warner (The Cult) and bassist Sean Koos (Joan Jett & The Blackhearts) - have been unable to travel.

Sylvain Sylvain is already in the UK having played with New York Dolls at KOKO earlier this week, as was Dead Boys and Rocket From The Tombs star Cheetah Chrome.

Frank Mauceri from the band's aptly named record label Smog Veil Records said: "The volcanic ash in Europe has created havoc for live concert touring, especially in the UK.

“Sylvain and Cheetah were really looking forward to the UK dates; however, flight cancellations have made it impossible to get the band into the UK."

The band will still release their debut 4-track self-titled EP in the UK on May 4th.

The postponed dates are as follows:

Glasgow ABC2 - May 3
Sheffield O2 Academy2 – 4
Liverpool O2 Academy2 – 5
London Islington Academy – 7
Hatfield Forum Attic Room – 8
Oxford Academy2 - May 10
Southampton Joiners – 11
Bristol O2 Academy2 – 12
Birmingham O2 Academy2 - 13
