Hundreds of fans gathered in Los Angeles yesterday (May 30) for the funeral of former Black Sabbath singer Ronnie James Dio.
Dio, who died earlier this month following a battle with stomach cancer, was laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi and Glenn Hughes of Deep Purple were among Dio’s rock peers who attended.
His former Heaven and Hell bandmate Scott Warren began the funeral with a special piano-led rendition of Dio's ‘This is Your Life’.
Hughes also performed acoustically at the service, which was also broadcast to fans outside on huge video screens.
Dio’s widow, Wendy, also joined mourners in paying tribute to the rock legend.
