Lady Gaga and Rise Against have joined a campaign of artists who have committed to not using fuel sold by BP on their 2010 tours.
It follows the ongoing disruption caused by the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, which started in April.
The campaign, established by the rock group Korn, is aiming to prevent such a disaster from taking place in the future.
“From everything we're hearing about now, it's become clear that BP cut corners to put profit ahead of safety,” frontman Jonathan Davis said.
He added that he was “really proud” that the campaign had attracted the support of so many other artists, including the Backstreet Boys and Disturbed.
Early estimates indicate that nearly 100 touring vehicles used by the committed artists will be involved in the boycott this summer.
Korn are currently preparing to release their new album ‘Korn III – Remember Who You Are’ on July 12.
