Kylie Minogue will join Scissor Sisters on stage during their appearance at Glastonbury on Saturday (June 26), it's been reported.

The Australian singer was due to headline the event in 2005, but was forced to pull our when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Scissor Sisters have also asked actor Sir Ian McKellen, who features on their new album, to accompany them on the Pyramid Stage.

"They're commissioning outrageous costumes and they've lined up Kylie and Sir Ian,” a source told The Sun.

"It's going to be quite a party."

In an interview with Gigwise, Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears said their Glastonbury performance will be one of the biggest gigs of their career.

“To be able to play the slot that we have on the main stage at Glastonbury is like…I just feel completely blessed, I mean it’s just amazing,” he said.

The band, who release their new album 'Night Work' next week, played two gigs at London's Brixton Academy this week.
