Festival-goers at this year’s Glastonbury festival have been warned about the risk of sunburn.

Temperatures have soared to highs of 28c in Somerset, with more than 2,100 people requiring treatment for heat-related problems.

The county’s chief doctor Caroline Gamlin told the BBC people should “take care to avoid sunburn, heat stroke, headaches and fainting”.

As well as drinking plenty of water, festival-goers are also being advised to spend time in the shade.

A Met Office spokesperson told Gigwise that the ridge of high pressure was expected to remain for Sunday, although there is a risk of some showers.

Gigwise is coming live from the festival all weekend, so keep checking www.gigwise.com for the latest news, photos and interviews.
