Noel Gallagher has told Manchester City fans that the players the club is targetting in the summer transfer window will “blow your mind”.
The former Oasis guitarist and life-long City fans claims to have been shown potential names during lunch with chief executive Garry Cook.
In a radio interview, he said Cook wrote the club's ideal 24-man squad on a napkin, reports Manchester Evening News.
When asked to elaborate on the players' identities, Gallagher claimed that Messi and Ronaldo were among them.
“Put it down on paper, and the 24-man squad we will have will be looking to win everything next season,” he said.
“That’s not being big-headed and saying we are going to win everything, but we have to go into it thinking ‘Who is better than us in the league?’”
As previously reported on Gigwise, Gallagher was a guest of honour at the World Cup final on Sunday (July 11).
