U2 have played in Russia for the first time on Wednesday with a thrilling performance at Moscow's Luzhniki stadium.
The band wowed the sold-out crowd with a career-spanning set. At one point singer Bono invited anti-Kremlin activist Yuri Shevchuk on stage to perform 'Knockin' On Heaven's Door'.
The gig formed part of the latest European leg of the Irish band's 360 Degree world tour.
Several activists were arrested before the concert after Russian police said they did not have permission to hand out flyers. U2's visit to Russia also saw him meet with President Dmirty Medvedev.
