Manic Street Preachers Hail 'Awe-Inspiring' Collaboration With Guns N' Roses Star

Manic Street Preachers singer James Dean Bradfield has said it was “awe-inspiring” working with former Guns N' Roses bassist Duff MaKagan on their new album.

MaKagan is one of a number of guest appearances on 'Postcards From A Young Man’, which is released on September 20.

The album also features John Cale and Ian McCulloch, while bassist Nicky Wire takes over lead vocals on the song, 'The Future Has Been Here 4 Ever’.

In an interview with XFM, Bradfield said: “It’s pretty unbelievable, we’ve got Duff McKagan on the record, which is truly awe-inspiring for me.

“We’ve also got John Cale, ex-Velvet Underground member, playing on the album and we’ve got Ian McCulloch singing on a track.

“Some of our heroes are just on the record with us.”

Bradfield said that the album had a “classic rock vibe about it”, but added that there were still elements of the band's “shiny, rock’n’roll punk energy”.

As previously reported on Gigwise, the Welsh band are set to launch the album at an intimate London gig next month.
