Katy Perry Signs Album Deal With Ice Cream Company

Katy Perry has signed a deal with an Australian ice cream company to help promote her new album.

Visitors to select ice cream parlors in Sydney and Melbourne who say Perry's name on the day of the album's release – August 27 – will be rewarded with a free cotton candy ice cream.

Perry is due to make a promotional visit to Australia this week, which includes a gig at the Plaza Ballroom in Melbourne on August 12.

'Teenage Dream’, which is released on August 30 in the UK, is the follow-up to the singer's 2008 album 'One For The Boys'.

It will be preceded a week earlier by a single of the same name.

Perry recently dismissed reports that the Beach Boys were planning to sue her over her recent single 'California Gurls'.
