ELO's Mike Edwards, who was killed when a hay bale crushed his van, has been buried.

The 62-year-old cellist died instantly when the 600kg bale struck his van as he drove along a country road in Devon on September 3.

Edwards, a founding member of the band, was buried in a woodland cemetery following a service at Rattery village hall today (September 22).

An investigation into his death, which has been described as a “farm accident”, is ongoing, reports BBC News.

Edwards was a member of ELO from 1972-1975.

Jeff Lynn, a fellow founder of ELO, said: "Mike was a great cellist but most of all a real gentleman."

The Birmingham band's hits include 'Xanadu' and 'Roll Over Beethoven'.
